Valentine’s Day isn’t really about gifts like flowers and chocolates, it’s about celebrating the most important gift we have: love. We were born from love, we experience love at all stages of our lives and we give love to others. It’s never-ending and doesn’t cost a cent. You might be one half of a romantic couple this Valentine’s Day, or you might not be. It doesn’t really matter. We all have reasons to celebrate love in our lives and they don’t necessarily have to include chocolates and flowers. We love our pets, our children, our friends, and our families. We are grateful for our jobs, our homes, and for being able to live in the moment today.
About ‘Never-Ending Love’: “In this painting, the two individual trees intertwine to become something bigger, stronger and more beautiful. The marriage of those trees will yield fruit that will not only nourish them, but others as well. There are honey bees buzzing over the bride’s bouquet, enjoying the nectar of the flowers and ready to pollinate the tree above. I am grateful for love that has grown into something more wonderful than anything I could have imagined.” – Cassandra Christensen Barney

About the Artist:
Barney’s images capture the souls of heroines, everyday women who have found strength and personal victory in their diverse experiences. Her portraits carry a range of emotion reflective of the events that have shaped their character. Ambiguous and poignant, Cassandra’s women find strength in their femininity. “They are beautiful and strong, because of the complexity of their feminine nature.”
Life is truly art at Barney’s home. Her husband is also an artist and teacher. Their three daughters enjoy creating alongside their parents. In addition to her children, Barney encourages many others to explore the world of art through education. She has taught at The Waterford School and Brigham Young University, where she is currently part-time faculty.
