Pop Art – comes from the words Popular Art and is a genre of art that uses elements of popular culture with techniques from commercial art and advertising along with bold and bright colours to attract attention. Pop art can be paintings, sculptures, and graphics that use the imagery of popular or mass culture such as newspapers, comics, advertising, and famous people, places, food or material things. A witty and ironic art, it emerged in New York in the 1960s after having it’s start in London during the 1950s. more
Steven Csorba is an award winning printmaker visionary, his work has been recognized by the Smithsonian Institute. He is a longtime Edmontonian who has devoted countless hours of community service and who campaigns to encourage others to become involved in the lives of Edmonton children. more
Viewers are struck at once by McLeod’s paintings visually deceptive spaces and the rich color of the saturated canvasses. Objects are depicted in a style that could be termed as “contemporary representational”. Handmade frames adorn each painting. Built from a wide variety of materials, the frames are an integral part of the artwork. more
