Artist Sueellen Ross – Known for her masterful animal portraits

“A friend of mine has owned Rottweilers all her adult life. She considers them to be the most loyal and loving dogs in the world. Her dogs are certainly examples of this, and I’ve tried to capture their spirit in this painting”, says artist Suellen Ross about “Gentle Giant” one of  two Ross originals participating in Masterpieces in Miniature 2009.

Sueellen Ross began drawing animals as soon as she could hold a pencil. She’s still at it, after over twenty eight years as a full-time professional artist.

Especially known for her masterful and delightful cats and wildlife portraits, Ross combines her passion for making art with her love of animals to create works of strong design and subtle wit. Her original hand-colored etchings and paintings have been exhibited from Alaska to Florida, Sueellen Ross  has authored books and appeared in countless publications both as a featured artist and as an author. … more art by Suellen Ross
